What a disappointment.
Almost all of the German speaking cast members did their own dubbing, which would have been a wonderful opportunity to allow them to speak in a way befitting their characters, seeing as they already knew them so well.
But instead, the translation is lukewarm, uninspired, and most importantly without the slightest hint of Viennese.
This takes away so much from the ambience, and completely undermines the unique feel of a place in time that is otherwise perhaps the strongest element of Vienna Blood.
For those of you who are unaware of the difference in language between 1907 Vienna and 2021 TV Germany, imagine Judy Dench in Downtown Abbey dubbed by Zendaya as MJ from Spider-Man.
